Show Notes Chapter Markers

Welcome to Episode 0026, where the Bums channel our inner sports muse with discussions around pro NFL’s first openly gay player, Carl Nassib, the Philly 76ers choke and their stupid, classless fans are consistently on brand, Supreme Court ruling involving initial legalese opening the door to financially compensating NCAA student athletes, NHL Blackhawks announcer (and future HOFer) Pat Foley announces his retirement in the jet stream of a front office scandal and cover-up (playing the predator shell game), the Chicago Cubs no hitter by cohort, Willson Contreras in rare air, Chicago MLB teams clinging to 1st place in their divisions, and MLB’s evolution is yielding unprecedented upticks in walks and players thumped by pitches.

In Part Two, Eddie passes Paddy the mics and B.O.M. HQ for our next episode (from Bunker East to South Cave), a beer review of Old Irving Brewing’s latest creation, “Sonne” — an exceptional German Helles lager (5.3% ABV), mango/habanero whiskey gets put in time-out, a quick review of Chicago’s Van Gogh exhibit (hosted at Eddie’s wedding venue, Germania Place), a review of Chicago’s grand re-opening,  Rocky’s fly fishing trip to Belize reminds us of the complicated and crazy legacy of former Tech Exec John McAfee (who was a fucking raging nut job, and recently died in a Spanish prison), before the Bums end with reviews of two TV shows, a new ShowTime TV series, ‘City on a Hill’ produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck featuring actor Kevin Bacon, and a zombie survivalist TV series, Black Summer, on Netflix.

Recorded on June 25, 2021 at B.O.M.’s global headquarters ‘East Bunker’ in Chicago, IL USA.
